David got his start in the recovery industry more than 5 years ago, where he started out as a tech and has done most jobs in the recovery field.  David has been in business development for 3 years and currently works for La Hacienda Treatment Center. 
 
He enjoys spending time with friends and his dog, Charley.  David enjoys reading, movies and snow skiing.

Patrick McGowan

Patrick’s life has been touched by addiction and recovery in many facets, most significantly by being in recovery himself. As an active member in both the substance abuse field and recovery community, Patrick has a unique passion for staying active and promoting TAAP’s statewide mission statement.
 
Patrick currently holds a Business Development position at Awakenings Recovery, which has two separate all-female addiction treatment centers, one in Seaside, Oregon and one in Fredericksburg, Texas. He will bring my collective knowledge and experience from multiple years in the field to help the Austin Chapter of TAAP continue to grow along the lines of their mission.
 
Serving as Vice President, Patrick will help the President perform all 6 main points of focus:
1. legislative advocacy
2. Professional growth opportunities
3. Academic growth opportunities 
4. Business growth opportunities 
5. Peer standards 
6. Ethical standards

Kim began working in the recovery industry two years ago when she accepted the role as CFO with The Last Resort Recovery Center in Smithville, TX. She is a licensed CPA in the State of Texas. Kim started her career as an auditor with Ernst & Young, and has also worked in the Toxicology, Marketing, and Hospitality industries. She feels honored to work in an industry dedicated to improving lives everyday.

 

Kim is dog and horse lover. Her dogs, Harper and Otis, accompany her to work at The Last Resort every day.

Chris Quaglino

Chris has made a positive difference in the lives of thousands of At-Risk Youth ages 16 to 30 for over a decade working as the 24/7/365 full time and on-call mental health coordinator for Gary Job Corps. He continues to gain the knowledge and skills needed to assist his clients with substance misuse, mental health issues, goal setting, communication concerns and life aspirations.

Prior to a career in mental health, Chris worked in the high-tech electronics semiconductor industry for over 23 years. This electronics experience enhances his unique ability to combine real-life troubleshooting methods with proven psychotherapeutic treatment skills.

Chris is currently in private practice in Austin, Texas where he is continuing his passion for assisting others in having a great life experience.

EDUCATION:
Digital Electronics Certificate from DeVry Institute of Technology, a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication from St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas. And a Master of Science in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin (now the Steve Hicks School of Social Work).

Lorelei got started in behavioral health four years ago in the Fort Worth area, specifically serving the military population.  She is passionate about serving her community and our nation.

Professionally, Lorelei represents Addiction Campuses as their Central Texas Treatment Specialist; personally, she is an avid reader, a cinephile, pet lover, and political buff.

As a man in long-term recovery and Principal/Owner of Harmony Haus Integrative Transitional Sober Living Recovery Residences, Dan is a well-respected leader in Austin’s recovery community.  Dan has a demonstrated passion for supporting TAAP’s mission of promoting the advancement of addiction focused professionals by uniting the industry talent pool throughout the Austin area.  
 
Dan brings a rich background in business development & digital marketing, professionalism, integrity, and understands the breadth and depth of growing an organization through enhancing outreach in the digital climate.  
 
Acting as TAAP’s Social Media & Webmaster Board Chair, Dan will help expand upon TAAP’s mission through utilizing the organization’s existing Facebook, LinkedIn, and Website platforms to promote:

Leah McIlrath

The world of addiction in terms of support, counseling and sober living are Leah’s passion.  She continually pours her heart into the community that has given her best friend back, her sister. Without the support of the Austin recovery community Leah’s life would look completely different. 

Leah is committed to be of service and to never stop learning while on her mission to help and empower those who need it most.  Professionally, Leah is currently in the process of launching Grace Recovery, a Women's Sober Living Recovery Residence. 

EDUCATION:
Leah is currently Studying for her LCDC and to become a Peer Recovery Coach.
